The huge blind spot you are missing does not exist in a silo

We love to categorize our lives: work, personal, party, family, relationships, health, entertainment, etc. But thinking about these aspects as separate and compartmentalized is grossly outdated.

In order to have an effective balance of *all the things*, not just work/life, we need to use a holistic approach. We need to understand that there are common threads woven into who we are that affect the way we show up in the world no matter where we are, who we are surrounded by, and what we are doing.

Some of the habitual thoughts we are programmed with are the very reason things seem out of balance, not just something weird going on at work or in our relationships.

But the beautiful thing is, this programming can be re-programmed to something better that serves us in an entirely more fulfilling way.

Check out my coaching offers to consider whether it’s time for you to re-program, re-design, and re-write who you are in the world. Visit my coaching page to learn more!

Why do I preach “put yourself first”?

Being whole, happy, and aligned within yourself is the first step to achieving anything you want, especially if you want to do good for others.

One of the main principles I teach is to put yourself first. There are so many benefits to this, but many people see it as selfish or don’t see the link to how putting yourself first is a highly impactful way to serve other people in your life like your family, friends, and coworkers.

Believe it or not, it is also incredibly important to do as a parent!

The power of positive thinking – how your thoughts shape your reality

I feel like we always hear about the power of positive thinking when it comes to cancer patients living past their diagnosis expectations. And I love these stories, it’s truly incredible!

But sometimes I wonder, why we aren’t talking about the smaller, everyday examples of positive thinking?

Here, I’m provoking thought in a super lighthearted way. (Scientifically, I know the positivity in my life reduces the amount of the stress hormone cortisol produced in my body.)

What are the ways in which your positive mindset enhances your reality?

If you’re not choosing to take action, you are choosing to suffer!

Do you ever encounter this – someone who is constantly complaining or living with an incredibly agonizing situation, pain, or roadblock that they love to complain about, but never seem to take action on any of the advice they get?

Is this YOU?!

Boo boo, I say this with all the love in the world: get off your ass and fix that shit!

I used to date someone who had pain in their abdomen for a year and pushed through it multiple times a week to complete long-distance runs. They were in pain the entire time, every day. But that 3x weekly run was a ritual for the last handful of years, so there was no option of taking just one rest day.

Until one day, they couldn’t walk. They couldn’t bend their legs to put their jeans on.

That week, they finally decided to go to the doctor, and guess what the doc said? No more running for 6 months.

Devastating, truly. Losing this form of exercise completely destroyed this person’s daily routine, peace of mind, happiness, and physique…all because they refused to give their body a little TLC when the pain first appeared.

Don’t let this happen to you.

Stop CHOOSING to be miserable, and choose to take action on whatever it is that you’ve been putting off.

My Halloweekend in Vegas had me feeling like…

This year, I decided to take a solo trip to Las Vegas for Halloween. It was the best vacation I’ve gifted myself in years! Waking up each morning with a view on the 18th floor, using the resort gym that was equipped with a smith machine (guided squat rack), and eating at fancy restaurants with famous chefs had me feeling on another level.

So, one morning I wanted to capture the vibe.

How to protect your energy when someone denies your reality

It is okay to protect your energy, thoughts, and beliefs when those around you are less than supportive. Remember, only YOU know what is best for yourself.

When someone is being unsupportive of your choices, try these mantras:
– that is not my belief
– that is not my truth
– that does not serve me

I was on an emotional rollercoaster; at war with myself.

The self-healing journey, in my experience, is a rollercoaster of emotions. All of this is normal to experience. Re-programming your mind is big work!

The low moments are our biggest opportunities for growth, and our high moments are a time to reflect and celebrate our progress.

On your journey, begin to track the time between your highs and lows and how long you remain in each. The patterns and trends that will emerge can provide valuable insight about where you should spend more time and energy healing yourself. Additionally, it will help you see all of the crazy mindset limitations you’ve overcome and give you fuel to keep moving on your journey.

Never stop celebrating the good!

How I channeled my jealousy productively – and won the game.

Relationships can be so tricky to navigate.

Many problems and tensions within a relationship actually begin in our own minds and turn into miscommunication, pain, jealousy, fighting, and other un-enjoyable experiences.

The best thing we can do is recognize our emotions and take a step back to analyze why we are feeling a certain way.

From there, we gain the insights to have meaningful conversations with ourselves and our partners to bridge the gap between reality and our emotions.

If you’ve been struggling with something similar, I can help.

I spent an hour ruminating on a simple task at work. What a waste!

The amount of time we spend at work can be incredibly fulfilling, if it’s the right environment. However, when your work doesn’t align with your values, goals, and desires, work can become a prison.

In those moments, a change in perspective can completely reframe the day to help you just get through.

The most important thing to realize is why you’re staying at a job you hate. If it’s truly not serving you, it is time to move on. Stop blocking out the trauma and continuing the cycle and just make a plan for something better, already!

If you’ve fantasized about crashing your car, you are not alone!

I’ve begun re-reading my old journals. As I peruse them, it’s absolutely incredible to reflect on how far I’ve come.

In this video, I discuss that in 2019, I recorded daily fantasies about pulling into oncoming traffic and slamming into guard rails. That in itself is a low, but compare that to 2007, when I frequently fantasized about stabbing myself or jumping off a building.

Dealing with suicidal thoughts is no joke, but it doesn’t have to be a permanent state of mind. Neither is the pain that you are experiencing… it doesn’t have to be a life sentence. And it can end a lot sooner when you have the proper support around you.

This is some of the stuff I can help you navigate in my 1:1 coaching program. When I say no judgment and no shame, I truly mean it. The things that I have been through would shock you, and the things that you have been through would probably shock me, too.

I’ll be here when you’re ready to chat
